Brief info

Umer Virk is a board-certified psychiatric mental health NP and currently serving as a clinical faculty/Instructor of Psychiatry at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He is a foreign medical graduate, who possess advanced practice degrees in psychiatry and family medicine and practice across the life span of psychiatric population. His previous practice was in inpatient psychiatric facility in Florida, where he encountered and participated in providing care to numerous clients with varied and complex mental health disorders.

Umer Virk earned his medical degree from University of Health Sciences, Lahore and his advanced practice degrees in psychiatry and family medicine from Florida International University and Miami Regional University, respectively. He is a member of the American Nurses Credentialing Center and Tau Sigma National Honor Society. His practice goals align with those of the Solace psychiatry; to provide the highest quality comprehensive mental health care that is individualized, compassionate, respectful, culturally sensitive, and collaborative using evidenced based practices and modalities to promote mental health and wellness across the lifespan. His research interests are new treatment modalities in psychiatry and their impact on quality of life.
